The Saint Honoratus chapel, located in the Alyscamps in Arles, France. The Alyscamps was a Roman necropois, or elaborate burial grounds just outside the Old Town of Arles. It was forbidden to bury the dead in many Roman towns.
The abbey of Saint-Martin-du-Canigou is a monastery built in 1009 in the Pyrenees on Canigou mountain in present day southern France near the Spanish border. An invigorating 45 minute hike up provides a gorgeous view of this active monastery, A very inspiring place to just sit and contemplate life.
